Multi-brand major appliances manufacturer, Vestel plans to support its rapid expansion in emerging regions, such as Oceania, with a US$180 million investment in increased production capacity.

Identifying Australia and New Zealand as two important emerging high-growth markets, the ODM/OEM technology giant has committed the spend to keep up with demand across all major domestic appliance (MDA) product categories. These include cooking, refrigeration, dishcare and laundry products, which make up most of its current, soon-to-increase MDA production capacity of 13.5 million units.

The move to expand into regions, such as Oceania, follows the company’s success in many other regional markets. Already a market leader in Europe and MENA, Vestel designs and manufactures for more than 1,000 brands, including world-known premium Japanese, Korean and European brand names.

Since it started manufacturing for Asia Pacific 15 years ago, Vestel has quickly established a loyal customer base of brands and in particular, private labels, emerging as one of the region’s fastest growing major appliance manufacturers.

This rise in customer demand means the additional investment is critical, according to Vestel regional sales manager, Sinan Kahraman.

“A reflection of our steadfast commitment to customers in Australia and New Zealand, our pledge to increase production will enable us to provide even greater capacity, and flexibility. As well as making it easier for us to ensure competitive lead times, it will allow us to accommodate additional seasonal orders, big and small,” he said.

“With one of the largest R&D and manufacturing complexes in the world, and now with an expanded production capacity, we can continue to deliver exceptional value for award-winning, high-quality products, thanks to our incredible economies of scale, and utmost dedication of bringing latest technologies to the field.

“Manufacturing multiple product categories under one roof, we can also ensure additional time and cost-saving efficiencies by enabling customers to order mixed product containers.”

From within the company’s 1.3 million m2 factory plant, Vestel, has the capacity to design and manufacture a dynamic and varied range of products across the entire spectrum of price points.

In cooking, customers can choose from economical 50cm dual fuel cookers and steam-assisted self-cleaning ovens to designer oven models in mink, white and dark grey finishes, and 100cm dual fuel range cookers.

Vestel also offers 30cm to 100cm cooktops in a range of induction, radiant, gas and electric fuel types, and an equally vast refrigeration range, which encompasses tabletop fridges and freezers, built-in and freestanding fridge/freezers and multi-door models.

In dishcare, ranges include 13 to 15 place setting freestanding, built-in and semi-integrated models, while the laundry line-ups offer 6kg to 12kg washing machines, washer dryers and heat pump, as well as condenser tumble dryers.

The entire range has achieved top star energy and water ratings including energy ratings of up to 4.5-star for fridge/freezers, 7-star for tumble dryers, and water ratings of up to 5-star for dishcare.

Over the course of its 25-year history in major appliances, Vestel has received international recognition for the strength of its products designs and technological innovations. In just the last few months, it has received awards from some of the most prestigious competitions, including the Plus X Award and the International Design Awards.

Customers can come and see, in person, the latest ranges at forthcoming international trade shows, such as Eurocucina in Milano, IFA in Berlin, and in 2023, CES and KBIS in USA.
