Shortly after standard PS4.
Sony has launched PlayStation 4 Pro, a high-end system designed for gaming enthusiasts. PS4 Pro, which supports dynamic 4K gaming and 4K entertainment, is now available in Australia with a recommended retail price of $559.95.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia managing director, Michael Ephraim commented, “We are very excited to launch the new supercharged PlayStation 4 Pro which is in step with consumer demand for heightened gaming and entertainment experiences.”
Sony Interactive Entertainment president of global sales and marketing, Jim Ryan said, “Never before have we introduced a new console in the middle of a platform’s lifecycle. By providing developers with a new way to showcase their creativity, PS4 Pro enables us to provide our commitment to innovation, as well as deliver captivating gameplay experiences for the players.”
Like all PS4 consoles, the system is also compatible with HDR imaging technology that produces more realistic, vivid visuals. It also compatible with PlayStation VR and will share the same user interface as the recently launched standard PS4.
For gamers who own a HDTV that does not support either 4K or HDR, PS4 Pro provides a number of benefits, such as higher or more stable frame rates as well as enhanced graphics and environments.
