Sony is expanding its LinkBuds series range with the addition of the world’s smallest and lightest noise-cancelling truly wireless earbuds.

The LinkBuds S incorporates Sony’s sensing technology and leverages spatial sound technology to deliver immersive experiences, whether streaming music, videos, social media content or Augmented Reality (AR) games.

Weighing just 4.8 grams, the LinkBuds S combine a shape intended to match the human ear with an ergonomic design for a more stable fit. The headphones automatically switch between noise cancelling and ambient sound modes without the need to touch them or access a phone.

Adaptive Sound Control adjusts ambient sound settings depending on the environment to create the ideal listening experience. Thanks to Sony’s Precise Voice Pickup technology, the microphones on both earbuds are optimally controlled for crystal clear conversations. Speak-to-Chat means music will automatically pause when a conversation is started.

With a new 5mm driver unit, the earbuds produce powerful bass and clear vocals despite their compact size, while Sony’s Integrated Processor V1 improves noise cancelling, enhances sound quality and reduces distortion.

The LinkBuds S allow users to experience High-Resolution Audio Wireless thanks to Sony’s industry-adopted audio coding technology, LDAC. Music will be restored back to high range sound with the use of DSEE Extreme. The earbuds are compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, and support Google’s Fast Pair feature and Swift Pair.

The earbuds are also ready for LE Audio, a next generation Bluetooth audio that enables ultra-low latency ideal for gaming. They boast six hours of charge with noise cancelling on and another 14 hours from the charging case. A quick five-minute charge provides up to 60 minutes of playtime.

The Sony LinkBuds S will be available in white, black and ecru in selected retailers from late June for SRP $349.95.
