Samsung Australia is utilising dropship fulfilment for the first time, exclusive to the sale of its Bespoke Refrigerators, currently launching into stores.

Dropshipping is an order fulfillment method where a retailer doesn’t keep the products it sells in stock. Instead, the store sells the product, and the supplier ships the order to the customer.

“We are rolling out the Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator range into a select number of stores across our key retail partners. There are two types of in-store displays that either showcase the freestanding four door French Door or a combination of configurable units with colour panels we chose in consultation with interior designers that fit most Australian homes,” Samsung Australia vice president of consumer electronics, Jeremy Senior told Appliance Retailer.

“To support the displays, we have created an online digital designer tool ‘Build Your Bespoke Fridge’ that allows shoppers in-store to work with the retail salesperson to choose the configuration and colours of their fridge and create a customised order. The retailer manages the transaction in-store and Samsung then facilitates the delivery and install on behalf of our retail partners, to then be professionally installed in the consumer’s home.

“The digital designer tool can simply be accessed online so customers can also design their fridge in the comfort of their home and then place their order in a retail store.”
