Samsung Australia has confirmed the appointment of Marco Perchante to the role of commercial manager for built-in cooking, as the Australian arm expands into this new category.
Perchante was most recently national business manager for AEG, Vintec and BeefEater at Electrolux Group. He has also held roles with Miele and Indesit Company.
His appointment coincides with the roll out of the Bespoke cooking line-up of ovens, cooktops, rangehoods and dishwashers on the Samsung Australia website, as well as select Harvey Norman and The Good Guys stores, available from today.
The initial range incorporates five built-in ovens, four induction cooktops, two 90cm rangehoods and two dishwashers.
In a recent interview with Appliance Retailer, Samsung Electronics Australia vice president of consumer electronics, Jeremy Senior explained the strategy behind expanding into the cooking category.
According to Senior, the products are centred on three key areas – unique colours and finishes, state-of-the-art cooking functions such as Dual Cook Flex, and smart functionality powered by Samsung SmartThings.
