Samsung Electronics is bringing the Galaxy SmartTag2 to Australia, enabling Samsung users to keep track of valuables. Design and usability upgrades create more use cases for the device than ever before.

Galaxy SmartTag2’s new Lost Mode allows users to register contact information to display a message when the SmartTag2 is scanned. For example, a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached to a pet’s collar ensures the owner’s phone number is always there. Lost Mode works with any Samsung mobile device with NFC reader and web browser.

Galaxy SmartTag2 now provides a Compass View feature, providing arrows to show the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in relation to the user. This mode is available on any UWB-supported Galaxy smartphone, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The SmartThings Find app has also been upgraded, with newly registered Galaxy SmartTags now installing a shortcut to the app on the user’s smartphone. In addition, the app features a full screen map view and an intuitive interface. When switching Galaxy smartphones, SmartTag2 now automatically re-syncs to the new Galaxy smartphone using your Samsung account.

New Power Saving Mode extends battery life beyond Normal Mode which can last up to 500 days. With the flexibility to switch between two modes, users can track their valuables for longer.

Galaxy SmartTag2’s durability has also been upgraded with an IP67rating for water and dust resistance. It also supports a new pet walking mode, making it easy for users to log walks with their furry friends.

Galaxy SmartTag2 takes advantage of both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities, leveraging Augmented Reality (AR) Find technology to visually guide users toward their item using their Samsung Galaxy smartphone camera. In addition, Galaxy SmartTag2 works within maximum Bluetooth range of 120 metres and can control smart home appliances through the SmartThings app.

The Galaxy SmartTag2 is available in Black and White as a standalone purchase or four-pack for $55 and $169 respectively from Samsung.com/au and select retail partners.
