SYDNEY: Victa Lawncare has split the combined role of sales and marketing manager by appointing Greg McKinley as the brand’s first dedicated marketing manager to the business.

McKinley, who was appointed on 3 April, has joined the company to relieve some of the responsibilities held by the company’s national sales and marketing manager, Steve Zammit.

Zammit was appointed following the departure of national sales and marketing manager, Robert Tasso, to Maytag Australia last year.

“My appointment frees up Steve from looking after both areas as obviously there is conflicting priorities with both roles,” McKinley told

“This role leads to a higher level of focus on core marketing areas. In my role, I will be focusing on consumer research, industry research and analysis as well as having the time to concentrate on identifying opportunities in the market including new products, new channels and promotional opportunities,” he said.

“I have a fairly grounded marketing style which suits the Victa business as I have a lot of experience at the coalface dealing with customers. I have the ability to relate to the ales team, customer service division as well as the logistics side of the business.

"There are several opportunities for the Victa brand as it is such an Australian icon. This is a very positive business that has the appropriate structure which will be able to seize opportunities in the market."

McKinley spent four years as channel manager – strategic development for Caroma Dorf in a sales and marketing role as well as senior brand manager for Dorf Clark at GWA. Prior to joining GWA, McKinley worked for the Laminex Group.
