“This appointment is important to our company because Tom’s knowledge of both the CE and computer reseller channels evenly matches the markets Emtec is targeting for growth.”

“While I had not anticipated joining any company on a full time basis for some time after resigning from Counterpoint I am delighted with the way things have panned out – IMC have been keen to take on my ideas and is a great place to work,” said DeTerilizzi.

“Being given the opportunity to work on the Emtec brand is exciting because not only does Emtec have a diverse product range it is also a brand name with a solid heritage.”

Based at Caringbah in Sydney, IMC is planning to role out new products and expand its team in the coming year, including the Emtec’s first range of universal remote controls.

Formerly known as the BASF brand, Emtec is again expanding in Australia.

Emtec’s remote control product range will include the base model Universal (RRP $17.95); the 2-, 4- and 8-in-1 models (RRP $19.95, $22.95 and $24.95 respectively) mono LCD screen type models ranging from 4-, 6- and 8-in-1 (RRP $59.95, $64.95 and $69.95) and the flagship colour LCD screen H510 Icon – a 10-in-1 universal remote control with an RRP of $249.95.
