SYDNEY, NSW: Parents will be able to keep a close ear and eye on Christmas and New Year babies this year with another baby surveillance device being released by Uniden.

The new Uniden Baby Watch UWS 1101 monitor has so far been received very well by Harvey Norman retailers especially, according to Brad Hales, Uniden senior national marketing executive.

The device uses digital wireless technology to transmit video and audio signals up to 150 metres. The system dubbed by Uniden as ‘plug and play’, incorporates a 3.5-inch wireless video monitor and indoor camera (this also offers infrared night vision) and a microphone.

The full colour display offers digital zoom, pan and tilt and for particularly proud parents, who wish to see their little one on the big screen, it can be connected to a television using RCA cables, or a laptop using a USB cable. An additional four cameras can be added to the system including an optional weatherproof outdoor camera.

The Baby Watch monitor displays a detailed, wide-access view in full colour and offers digital zoom, pan and tilt capability.  Both the monitor and camera include a Li-ion rechargeable battery with up to four hours battery life or can be plugged in using included AC adaptors for longer periods of time.

The Baby Watch UWS 1101 is RRP $229.
