Sunbeam has found success at the Australian Product of the Year Awards, with its FoodSaver FreshSaver appliance picking up the gong for the Small Appliance Product of the Year at the award ceremony in Sydney last week.
The consumer satisfaction survey, which is conducted by the global research company TNS, saw 5,000 Australian shoppers vote for their favourite products in a variety of categories. Alongside Sunbeam’s food-preserving appliance, a range of fast-moving consumer goods also collected awards, including products such as Tim Tams and Listerine mouthwash.
Speaking about the award, Sunbeam marketing manager Nicole Cowley said it was a huge accomplishment.
“Sunbeam’s handheld FoodSaver FreshSaver truly is a convenient and innovative product made for consumers who are conscious about saving money and reducing food wastage,” she said.

In Sunbeam personal care news, the company has announced the appointment of Tracey Duff to the role of business development manager – Emjoi, last November. Duff previously held national sales roles in the Australian music industry and joined the Sunbeam Emjoi team after owning her own consultancy business.
“Emjoi is being reinvigorated as a stand-alone brand and Sunbeam is committed to making this happen, hence the appointment of Tracey, who has already contributed to the brand’s growth in a short period of time,” said Sunbeam CEO, David Jackson.
Since Duff’s appointment last year, the Emjoi BodyBare Ultimate epilator (AP98R) took out the top position for best-selling epilator in December, according to GfK data. In addition, the brand has renewed its focus on the exfoliation market thanks to the earlier launch of the PediSmooth portable exfoliator.
“Sales of this product have been incredible and we will follow this with the launch of an extensive range of additional exfoliation products throughout this year, including a range of interchangeable rollers for all-over body exfoliation, as well as a gentle facial exfoliation roller,” said Duff.
“If the success of its equivalent range in the UK is anything to go by, we expect the Emjoi brand to grow substantially in the next 12 months.”
