South Australian-based supplier Powermove Distribution has acquired Techlynx, based in Albury, on the New South Wales and Victoria border, and will take over the distribution of Griffin and Gecko accessories.

A spokesperson for Powermove said its would only be distributing these two brands following this acquisition. Techlynx’s website currently lists several other brands as part of its stable, including Cyber Acoustics, Elano, Innovelis, iProtector, Klear Screen and Macally.

The spokesperson also confirmed that Techlynx “will fold into Powermove” and that they “do not anticipate any major changes for either Techlynx or Powermove customers”.

Techlynx has been servicing the Apple reseller channel for over ten years, offering the highest level of personalised service to its customer base, distributing accessories for Apple products.

“The aligning mission and customer focus of both companies made the decision to acquire Techlynx, and continue their distribution, an easy one,” said Powermove national sales manager Peter Colebrook. “Powermove’s success has been built through the personal approach we take to help our customers achieve their goals, and we look forward to working with Techlynx’s clients to achieve theirs.”

Griffin and Gecko join a very comprehensive brand portfolio at Powermove, which includes Philips, Ferrari by Logic3, Jays, Klipsch, Soul and Pure Acoustics.

UPDATE #1: In addition to distributing third party brands, Techlynx has its own brand of accessories. A spokesperson for Powermove said:

The other major product groups that Techlynx distributed were under the Techlynx brand and were primarily cables, adaptors and convertors for the computer and home theatre markets.

Powermove is currently assessing these product groups and may continue them in some other form.

UPDATE #2: Griffin has contacted Digital Retailer to report that Powermove was an existing distributor of Griffin products before this acquisition, and that this acquisition only affects previous Techlynx customers.
