The Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) has presented Canon with five awards across a variety of categories, demonstrating the brands dominance in the imaging category.

At the TIPA General Assembly held in April 2009, 25 photo magazine editors voted on which brands excelled, under the criteria of innovation, the use of leading-edge technology, design and ergonomics, ease-of-use and price/performance ratio.

The awards are acknowledged as one of the most coveted photo and imaging awards, due to the fact that it recognises the best products introduced into the European market over the last 12 months.

Darren Ryan, general manager of product marketing, Canon Australia said, “The awards are considered a benchmark achievement at Canon. It’s always very gratifying to win a TIPA award, but to win five really is cause for celebration”.

Ryan also commented at how this recognition helps reinforce the company’s market leadership and confirms that the company is meeting its goals.

“These awards reinforce Canon’s market leadership position and really are testimony to the effectiveness of our heavy R&D investment each year in delivering superior product innovation and unparalleled usability.”

“We pride ourselves in providing consumers with the best products available and the TIPA awards are confirming that we are delivering,” said Ryan.
