Digital Products Group has announced its highly anticipated range of Slingbox products is now available from retailers across the country.

For those of you who don’t know about Slingbox, it is a product that sends content from a home television source (digital FTA TV, Set Top Box, PVR, DVR or Pay TV)to a wide range of products around the home.

This means you can watch television anywhere around the home, via a PC or notebook etc.

In addition to this, Digital Products Group has highlighted that customers who have a high speed broadband connection can even send TV signals outside the home. This means consumers can watch their TV signal from just about anywhere in the world that has a network connection.

The introduction of SlingPlayer Mobile will also allow users to view a TV signal on a compatible 3G or Wi-Fi capable mobile phone.

Jai Kemp, general manager and founder of Digital Products Group, was enthusiastic about the launch.

“We are very excited to be finally launching the Slingbox family of products, DPG have always found great satisfaction in delivering new and exciting technology and as far as new technology goes, it is just a fantastic product,” he said.

John Gilmore, general manager of Sling Media, expressed how the Australian market has shown strong support for the Slingbox over the years.

“We’ve had a strong response from Australian consumers from the moment we launched the first Slingbox in June 2005 and we are pleased to enter the Australian market today,” he said.

“The Slingbox will transform the way Australians watch and control their home television on their computer and combined with our SlingPlayer Mobile software, Australians will also have the ability to access their home TV using the most popular smartphones from virtually anywhere.”

The range includes the Slingbox SOLO (RRP $349), Slingbox PRO (RRP $499), SlingCatcher (RRP $549) and the SlingLink TURBO 4 Port (RRP $399).

All products are available now, except the SlingLink TURBO which will be launched in August, and are available at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Domayne, The Good Guys and other leading retailers.
