Philips has been recognised with a 2021 Canstar Blue Customer Satisfaction Award for its dehumidifiers and air purifiers.

The brand received five stars for overall satisfaction, as well as reliability, quietness, value for money, functionality and effectiveness.

Philips was ranked ahead of De’Longhi, Dyson, Breville and Kmart which rounded out the top five brands.

Commenting on the win, Philips Domestic Appliances country manager for Australia and New Zealand, Geoff Hannaford said the company is pleased to win the Canstar Blue Award for its dehumidifiers and air purifiers.

“We would like to thank Canstar Blue and Australian consumers for this honour. We spend a large proportion of our time indoors every day and even more so as a result of the pandemic. Consumers are looking for new ways to take greater control of their personal health and wellbeing, and the quality of the air we breathe plays an essential part in this,” he told Appliance Retailer.

“Our air treatment products, including air purifiers and humidifiers, showcase the best in high-technology home care solutions to improve clean air delivery and keep pollutants and bacteria at bay.”

Canstar Blue research has shown that Australians largely purchase dehumidifiers or air purifiers to help allergies or medical conditions (36%), to ‘make the air feel nicer’ (31%) and to prevent mould in the home (18%). The average amount spent on a dehumidifier is $203.

Almost one-third (28%) of dehumidifier and air purifier owners use them every day during summer and just over half (51%) would recommend the brand they use to friends and family.

Canstar Blue ratings are based on survey findings from over 350 Australians who purchased and used a dehumidifier or air purifier in the last three years.
