Panasonic has been crowned the leader in the microwave category in the Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers Award for the second consecutive year.

Panasonic received a clean sweep of five stars across all seven ratings including overall satisfaction, value for money, ease of use, even heat distribution, cooking functions, appearance/design and ease of cleaning.

Panasonic category manager for home appliances, Charissa Sano said it was exciting to receive recognition from Canstar Blue once again.

“Over the last 12 months, we have seen consumers spend more time at home and increase their purchases of home appliance products,” she said.

“We have released a strong range over the last year that offers true value for money, and are proud that Australians are recognising the benefits of our technology.”

Two-thirds of consumers are using their microwaves every single day. When purchasing a new microwave, price is the most important factor for 40% of Australians, followed by size and appearance (19%), ease of use (15%) and brand name (11%), according to Canstar Blue’s survey.

Respondents reported that they replace old models after an average of just over six years with almost one-third (30%) of those surveyed using their microwave more than their oven or cooktop, while one-fifth (20%) said they bought a model to complement their kitchen appliances and broader design aesthetic.
