Euromonitor International senior research analyst for beauty and fashion, Emily Cox said that the growth of electric toothbrush units has been supported by the perception that more advanced tools are needed to maintain healthy teeth and gums as well as the growing awareness of oral diseases.

“Furthermore, with an ageing population, consumers are becoming more pro-active in their oral care routine. Some of the new features within electric toothbrushes include Bluetooth connectability, wireless displays and advanced cleaning methods.

“Father’s Day offers retailers and manufacturers a perfect opportunity to promote their electronic toothbrushes to consumers, with the offering of special promotions and increased marketing activities,” she said.
