SYDNEY: Electrolux announced a Sydney-based partnership last night with one of the city’s largest providores – Fratelli Fresh.

The concept, known as Electrolux @ Fratelli, involves the establishment of cooking classes within the retail area of the providore’s premises located at Danks Street in Waterloo, near the Winning Appliances store.

The free cooking classes, which will use Fratelli’s fresh produce to create Italian meals, will use top of the range Electrolux appliances.

“We’re thrilled with the new partnership and together with Fratelli Fresh we will provide the very best cooking appliances, produce and chefs to ensure a fantastic and successful cooking program in a hands-on environment,” said Electrolux group marketing director, Nicholas Gibson.

Using the cooking islands exclusively designed by the Electrolux Design & Innovation Centre, each class will provide participants the opportunity to experience European-engineered cooking appliances by Electrolux, including the top-of-the-line half induction, half electric cooktop and oven from the new Electrolux Gallery range.

The Electrolux-endorsed chef, Tetsuya Wakuda, whose restaurant was recently voted as the fifth best in the world, celebrated the launch with Electrolux managing director, Trevor Carroll.

Wakuda was complementary of the installation of induction cooktops within the Fratelli kitchen which he believes provides less external heat and more efficient use of energy.

”Induction cooking is a favourite cooking method in my restaurant because it is smarter and safer than conventional cooktops. It’s a perfect cooking solution for professional or home use. The Electrolux @ Fratelli students will experience this great alterntative to the traditional gas or electrial hob cooktops,” Wakuda said.
