SYDNEY: LG Electronics showed its support for this year’s Australian Special Olympics by donating an LG plasma television to the Special Olympics Special Luncheon, which was held on Friday 23 February at the Dee Why RSL club.
The 42-inch plasma screen was auctioned off at the event in a bid to raise funds to help send the 130 Australian Special Olympics Athletes to the World Games in China in September.
“It gives us great pride to contribute to the empowerment of individuals with disabilities by supporting the Special Olympics,” said LG Electronics, corporate communication executive, Liz Dani.
“The Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 30 Olympic-type summer and winter sports.”
The Australian team will compete alongside more than 7,000 athletes with disabilities from around the world.
