Nespresso will kick off its first free virtual coffee masterclass on Friday 8 May, with weekly masterclasses to follow into June.

Hosted by Nespresso coffee ambassador, Mitch Monaghan (pictured), the masterclasses focus on topics including coffee tasting, espresso martini, food and coffee pairings, latte art and new Nespresso barista creations flavoured range.

The first masterclass on Friday will enable participants to learn everything about coffee and how to identify different blends and flavours. Next week, participants can learn how to create an at-home espresso martini with a simple recipe.

“While we spend more time at home, there is one thing we can continue to take comfort in everyday: great quality coffee,” Monaghan said.

“Australians have a universal love of coffee – it is not just a drink but a favourite morning ritual, form of socialising, afternoon treat and a way to connect with others. To help Australians continue to take comfort in their love of coffee, each class will be carefully tailored and designed to provide all the tips needed to make a barista-quality coffee at home.”

The Nespresso Facebook page has a list of necessary ingredients and further information on each masterclass.

To coincide with the virtual masterclasses, Nespresso has launched six new flavoured coffees in the Barista Creations range with smooth and rounded roasts complemented by warm and sweet flavours, designed to be blended with milk.

For the Original line, there are three options – Vanilla Éclair, Caramel Crème Brulée or Cocoa Truffle. For the Vertuo line, the three options are Vanilla Custard Pie, Caramel Cookie or Hazelino Muffin.
