NEC is launching a series of interviews with influential Australians who will share their experiences and efforts to drive change in the community.

In the first interview in the ‘Creating Value’ media series, former Prime Minister, Julia Gillard sits down with Paralympian and motivational speaker Dylan Alcott, to discuss her insights as the chair of Beyond Blue and the changing stigma that surrounds mental health. She also shares her strategies for managing day-to-day as well as high-pressure situations.

“It was an honour and privilege to sit down and talk about creating value with someone with the depth of experience and emotional warmth of Julia Gillard,” Alcott said.

The production is the first in a series to be released in coming months to highlight the impact of how some of Australia’s most high-profile and influential leaders have created value in the past and celebrating the potential for those with the vision to do so in the future.

Speaking about the partnership, NEC ANZ president and CEO, Mitsuhiro Murooka said NEC has long been committed to creating and delivering value to its customers, consumers and broader society.

“We are honoured to be able to partner with a leader like Julia Gillard and an ambassador of the calibre of Dylan Alcott to amplify and collectively learn from their wisdom, experience and expertise,” he said.

Other speakers in the series include former AFL coach and player, Kevin Sheedy; digital disruption speaker, Holly Ransom; former Facebook CEO for ANZ, Stephen Scheeler and Essendon Football Club president and former global chair of PWC, Paul Brasher. Collectively, they will discuss a wide variety of issues including leadership through crisis and the nature of innovation.

The series will be promoted via social media including YouTube. Watch the full interview and more from the NEC Creating Value Series at: http://nec.com.au/creating-value
