SYDNEY, NSW: A Sydney woman is facing 40 criminal charges after being arrested following a 9-hour shoplifting rampage on the New South Wales Central Coast. Electrical appliance stores were one of her main targets during this pre-Christmas crime spree.

According to the New South Wales Police, the 62-year-old woman allegedly drove from her home in Sydney to Gosford in order to commence the thievery. Remarkably, a full 22 stores were hit during the spree, with $4,500 worth of products allegedly stolen. The most common products targeted were electrical goods, clothing and alcohol.

The Police arrested the woman as she was leaving a shopping complex. She was later charged with 19 counts of larceny and 21 counts of possessing stolen property. One of these products was an entire case of Chivas Regal Scotch whisky.

It was unfortunate timing for this five finger bandit, as police were actually targeting that shopping centre as part of an anti-shoplifting strike force that very weekend.
