The demise of Retravision Wendouree, known as Terry Ham Electrical, may have left staff out of pocket, but the concerned parties all refused to comment today on what led to this collapse, and what measures, if any, will be taken to assist those that have been cheated out of entitlements. this morning spoke to Terry Ham, the principle of his eponymous store, hoping for an explanation, after The Courier, the local newspaper, reported that the store was in liquidation and staff were set to be the most disadvantaged.

Although there was hope that Ham would answer questions about this, and seek to reassure former staff that they would not be the ones most hurt, Ham refused to comment publicly and referred our enquiries to Retravision Southern’s head office.

It is reported in The Courier that the business, under the directorship of Ham and his wife, Margaret, owes former staff $80,000 in benefits and entitlements.

When Retravision Southern was contacted for verification on this, no parties were available for comment. It was the same story at liquidators BDO Kendalls.

Whilst it is not unfathomable that business can become unprofitable and eventually fall into administration or liquidation, it is not an unfair expectation that those in director and liquidator positions are open and forthcoming about what debts will be serviced.
