Opening expected in two stages.

Myer Hobart will remain closed for the immediate future following extensive flooding in the area. The basement level of the store has now been secured and initial remedial work has commenced, according to a statement from the department store supplied to Appliance Retailer.

The statement read: “An initial Myer assessment has also been completed and has determined that several critical pieces of equipment have been damaged and will require either repair or replacement. This task is already underway and is progressing well.

“The store will reopen for trade in two stages. Stage one will be the ground floor, levels one, two and three with an expected opening date towards the end of August. A date for stage two, the basement of the store, is yet to be determined.”

Re-opening the store remains first priority. In the meantime, Myer’s online store www.myer.com.au remains open for trade.

“On behalf of Myer Hobart general manager, Peter Monachetti (pictured above) and the Hobart Myer team, we would like to thank our Hobart customers for their ongoing support and good wishes,” the statement concluded.
