ERINA: Narta member, Worldwide Appliances, has created a new revenue stream from the introduction of a cooking school at its newly-renovated store, which now focuses exclusively in whitegoods.

Worldwide Appliances proprietor, Alan Williams, told, he has received strong support from local consumers for his cooking school concept which commenced in February this year with classes regularly attracting over 20 participants.

“We have found a niche and it is helping to give our business a strong reputation and awareness as a whitegoods specialist among our local community,” Williams said.

The cooking classes are held generally after the store closes and range between $40 and $120.

“This is a good value add for our whitegoods superstore concept.”

In an interview with earlier this year, Williams claimed that his store has become the most focused kitchen specialist in Australia following the deletion of browngoods from his range mid last year.

“We have decided to operate a smaller business and concentrate on really being the best at one thing in one area which differentiates us from our competitors.

“We have the biggest range of cooking, fridges, washing, small appliances and home appliances which is right at the lifestyle end of the market.”
