To Indooroopilly, where UnderCurrent is pleased to announce the Dick Smith has opened its latest Move store. The outlet, Dick Smith’s fourth and first in Queensland, is nestled happily in the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, an enormous complex in the soulless American tradition that is also home to JB Hi-Fi, EB Games, Godfrey’s, Bose and Dick Smith stores.

UnderCurrent recently visited this shopping centre on a bustling Saturday morning and it is pleased to report that while many mall manager complain of a foot traffic malaise, this store didn’t seem to have any trouble attracting Brisbanites to its polished white floors and slow-moving travelators…

Here’s the Move team hamming it up for the camera shortly before opening:

And here’s a pic of the first customer:

Proper Journalist would just like to chip in that the new Move store is Shop 211 on Level 3 of the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, at 322 Moggill Road. It’s open seven days a week. Dick Smith first introduced the Move fashtronics concept last year, when it opened its first store in Bondi. The second and third Moves were both in Melbourne, in Highpoint and the new Emporium complex in the CBD.

“Move is the progressive concept store for tech style,” explained a spokesperson. “A distinguished fusion of fashion and on-the-go electronics. Its technology with style and its style that moves with the moment.”
