Miele co-proprietor and executive director, Dr Reinhard Zinkann and executive director for marketing and sales, Dr Axel Kniehl have officially opened the new Miele Australia headquarters in Melbourne’s Hawthorn East, alongside Miele ANZ managing director, Yves Dalcourt.
“I think this new building definitely pays into two of the four pillars of our pioneering compass: Immer Besser for the Employees and Immer Besser for the Planet,” Dr Zinkann said.
“It is setting standards in terms of sustainability with a five-star NABERS energy rating and through its construction of materials that are either recyclable or have a sustainability story through thoughtful sourcing.
“Climate change is the challenge of our time. And let’s not forget, the pandemic has also raised people’s awareness for a more mindful approach to our livelihoods. We are thrilled with how this has been implemented here in Australia with the new HQ and it sends a strong message with the Miele appliances in the Future Food System Zero Waste House.”
The new HQ delivers a futuristic new hot desk system designed to encourage more collaboration and the ability to work from the Wi-Fi-fitted, outdoor terrace that considers the importance of light and air to wellbeing.
Featuring state-of-the-art technology including interactive whiteboards and AV systems, the office features greenery throughout, as well as multi-functional spaces including focus areas, collaboration spaces, and multiple meeting rooms of various sizes.
