Miele Australia is moving into its new state-of-the-art headquarters in Hawthorn East, Victoria on March 1, designed to meet the needs of future work culture and with sustainability front of mind.

We are eagerly awaiting the reveal of our new offices which we feel will create a new level of collaboration and engagement and somewhere our team will be proud to call their ‘work’ home. From design to construction, we’ve had two focuses in mind – the environment and our people,” Miele Australia and New Zealand managing director, Yves Dalcourt said.

From an environmental perspective, raw and exposed materials have been used where possible, in addition to carbon neutral flooring products and wood wool acoustic tiles which received an upgraded environmental product declaration for their ability to be recycled and re-used.

Energy efficiency was also a key focus with the installation of LED lights, electrical and mechanical systems, and Miele appliances in the communal kitchen.

Meeting the needs and desires of staff was also essential. Miele ran a series of staff engagement and consultation processes during the project which was extremely well received with almost 100% of staff participating in online surveys.

The new hot desk system encourages more collaboration and the ability to work from the Wi-Fi-fitted, outdoor terrace is designed to enhance wellbeing, alongside other multi-functional spaces such as focus areas, collaboration spaces, and multiple meeting rooms. State-of-the-art technology includes interactive whiteboards and AV systems.

Miele also engaged Melbourne based and award-winning specialists in sustainable design, WMK Architecture for the office design, and partnered with sustainable flooring product supplier, Interface and HERADESIGN wood wool acoustic solutions.
