Electrolux Home Products has confirmed the departure of sales director – Michael Doyle.
“Electrolux Home Products today announced the departure of Michael Doyle, who leaves after four years in the role of director of sales,” the company said in a statement issued to Appliance Retailer today.
“He will be replaced in an interim capacity by Chris Coen. Currently product line director – taste, Coen will assume interim responsibilities immediately in addition to his current role,” the statement said.
“We thank Michael for his service over the last few years and wish him the very best for the future. Chris Coen is highly respected in the industry and is well equipped to lead the sales team and implement our plans,” general manager for Australia and head of sales for Australia and New Zealand, John Featherstone said.
Electrolux confirmed a permanent appointment will be confirmed shortly with an announcement to follow.
Doyle has spent over two decades in the appliance and consumer electronics industry in Australia, including as director of LG Electronics and national sales manager at Hitachi and Panasonic.
Earlier this year, Doyle was the country head of Electrolux and acting general manager, pending the appointment of a successor to former Electrolux Home Products Australia and New Zealand managing director, Mike Putt.
“As country head of EHP, Michael will drive the forthcoming release of the most comprehensive range of new Westinghouse products in the brand’s history,” an Electrolux spokesperson said at the time.
Putt’s replacement, John Featherstone, has taken his first role in the whitegoods industry after a career that has primarily been focused on the mobile communications and technology industry.
Speaking about Featherstone’s appointment earlier this year, Electrolux senior vice president APAC/MEA, Adam Cich said, “John’s experience with companies such as Sony Mobile, SanDisk, IBM and Telstra, make him the ideal choice to lead the company’s digital transformation.”
Doyle has been actively involved in the recent transformation of Electrolux introducing the E100 and Westinghouse product roll-outs and is widely regarded as a sales professional with some of the strongest relationships in the appliance industry.
