Gamers rejoice! Harvey Norman has decreed that a selection of top-selling games will be available through its website for 50 per cent off over the next two days. Titles such as Assassins Creed: Revelations, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim will all be slashed in price, for a limited window of 48 hours.
The expected caveats apply – there’s a limit of two games per customer, the offer excludes pre-order games and games must be bought online.
The sale does raise interesting questions about the relationship between Harvey Norman’s regular online store and it’s online-only Direct Import retail channel, both of which offer the same titles for different prices.
The aforementioned Assassins Creed title is currently selling for $54 on the Direct Import site, however this price is being undercut by Harvey Norman Online, which is selling the title for $33.94. But on any other day that role would be reversed, with Harveys Online being undercut by the the company’s Direct Import store.
Harvey Norman offers Assassins Creed: Revelations through its Direct Import website…
…And its regular online site.
Either way, consumers will presumably be happy to get their hands on a reduced-price game, whether it’s from one Harvey Norman website or another. And gamers can rest assured that they will still be able to get their joystick-capable hands on Call of Duty: Black Ops for 50 per cent off.
That’s right, you too can play CODBLOPS.
