Conair has just announced that it will continue its support for the VS Sassoon brand throughout 2009 with a strong new product line up and extensive advertising campaign.

“VS Sassoon has invested heavily in product innovation in the past 18 months and backed this with extensive advertising and promotional support,” said marketing manager, Peter Brewer.

“We plan to support retailers even further this year with what will be the most extensive campaign for the VS Sassoon brand to date. Over the Mother’s Day period, two new products will be highlighted, the ‘Goddess’ Ionic Steam Straightener and the ‘You Curl’.”

TV advertising for both products will commence from April 12 as part of a three-week campaign in the lead up to Mother’s Day. Continued advertising will also be used in print, TV and the web for the rest of the year.

“Our research clearly indicates that hair styling product sales should continue to be strong this year. Women are cutting back on the frequency of their hairdresser/salon visits, investing instead in quality hair styling tools that can deliver the same professional salon results at home in between visits. The Sassoon brand is well positioned to cater for this trend,” said Brewer.

Brewer also commented on how this new campaign will help strengthen the brands previous successes.

“The VS Sassoon brand is number one in value for stylers in the independent and department store channels for 2008,” he said.

“Conair’s planned marketing investment based on category value would make us the leading brand in advertising and promotion against other brands in the total small electronics market this year.”
