Sponsorship promotes large capacity washing machines

LG has made a first time sponsorship commitment to The Color Run – the world’s largest event series that kicks off with the Tropicolor World Tour in Sydney on August 21. The 5K course celebrates all things tropical from music and scents to Hawaiian shirts that are given out to each participant.

As part of the event, LG will sponsor a ‘Foam Zone’ that will pump out a sea of bubbles to soap up runners as they pass through the area in the 5K course. At the finish line, LG will also erect a fun ‘Dunk Tank’ that takes the form of a giant LG washing machine. Race participants will be able to submerge family and friends in water for the chance to win prizes.

Commenting on the sponsorship, LG Australia home appliances marketing manager, Brad Reed, there was a clear synergy between The Color Run and the company’s large capacity washing machines. “The estimated 16,000 people taking part in the race will produce a colossal amount of dirty laundry and the upcoming events in Australia will provide a fantastic opportunity to integrate our product and brand,” he said.

“Large capacity washing machines are a fast growing category in Australia and we have seen them grow substantially in popularity, especially with families and those with a busy lifestyle. The idea behind large capacity machines is to help people reduce the amount of washing loads as well as the amount of time spent shackled to the machine each week.”
