LG Electronics Australia has confirmed that its gram laptop range will be available through local retailers, Amazon Australia and LG online this month with pricing starting from $1,799.

There are three models in the range offering 14-, 16- and 17-inch screen sizes with the 14-inch laptop weighing just 999 grams and the 17-inch laptop only 1.35kg.

The sleek design with ultra-narrow bezels, a hidden hinge design and 16:10 screen aspect ratio for more screen real estate, is supported by a long-lasting battery.

The LG gram 17 and 16 models feature WQXGA high-resolution – twice the resolution of Full HD – for a clear and vivid display and covers 99% (typical) of industry standard DCI-P3 wide colour gamut.

The keyboard and touchpad have been enlarged for easier typing with elevated key stroke at 1.65mm to help relieve hand fatigue.

Fast performance for content creation, work productivity, gaming and streaming is achieved with an Intel Evo Platform powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core processor with Iris Xe Graphics and LPDR4x memory.

Incorporating DTS:X Ultra, the LG gram range offers 3D audio rendering even without headphones for a rich and full audio experience. The range also comes with smart amp and stereo speakers.

The LG gram underwent rigorous testing by a third-party laboratory against seven US military testing methods and passed the test for durability.

It’s been several years since LG was in the laptop market in Australia, but the company is excited to introduce a truly versatile solution with the LG gram range, according to LG Australia business solutions marketing manager, Bernadette Jolley.

“The LG gram range delivers both work and personal functionality. These products are built to enhance productivity, provide immersive viewing and creation and keep up with on-the-go experiences, such as offsite meetings,” she said.

Recent LG research has found that more than two in five (44%) Australian consumers are planning to upgrade their laptop, with half of respondents seeking faster storage and speed, coupled with longer battery life.

“We’re looking forward to offering a product range with the LG gram that addresses what consumers want,” Jolley said.

According to the research, the top five most cited laptop features include long battery life (81%); fast, powerful processing (79%); slim and light design (60%); durable and sturdy build (58%) and great graphics (41%).
