Following the launch of its private label business unit in October 2020, Laser recently announced its first partnership with PETstock, developing an exclusive range of pet care products under a new brand, Tech4Pets.

In a statement supplied to Appliance Retailer, Laser said recent investments in the private label unit will continue to bring a diversified portfolio of products and retail channels.

“Tech4Pets is currently an exclusive brand to PETstock stores across Australia and New Zealand, and we are working closely with them to grow and expand the brand and range. But more broadly, Laser has curated and presented pet tech options to retailers and will be investing to grow heavily in this category enabling retailers to either launch new pet brands through us, or expand their existing brands to include this category,” the company said.

Leading the range is the new 4G GPS Pet Tracker (RRP $199.95), designed for pets with a tendency to escape or simply for peace of mind. The tracker works via a 4G SIM card and is not locked to any provider, nor is there any contract required. The collar is large enough to fit most dog sizes and the tracker’s battery life lasts up to one week.

Users can set up notifications if they go beyond certain virtual boundaries, and the inbuilt SOS function means that once activated and the pet is found, the owner can be called directly from the device on the pet’s collar with two-way audio.

The Smart Treat Dispenser (RRP $279) features a built-in 1080p full HD camera with 130-degree wide viewing angle and two-way audio for owners to see, talk and treat their pets remotely via the accompanying app. Alternatively, treats can be scheduled at certain times of the days.

There are also two Smart Feeders with 7L and 4L capacities for RRP $299 and $179 respectively, which both dispense food remotely, with the ability to customise feed portions, monitor eating habits or schedule feeding times. The larger 7L feeder also features a full HD camera and two-way audio.

Rounding out the range is the 2L Smart Water Fountain with UV Filter (RRP $99.95) providing pets with fresh, clean, and oxygenated water. With smart notifications via the accompanying app, owners will be alerted when water levels are low.

Each product delivers full compliance with Australian standards and regulations, replacement warranty and local customer support.

“Pets are part of our family, and a growing and exciting category that has been embracing technology in recent years. This market is a natural extension for us as we deliver affordable, easy to use options to this market. To do this through the launch of a new brand and in conjunction with PETstock is exciting for us,” Laser managing director, Chris Lau said.

“We have had great success in building new, price-fighting brands for our retail partners. It delivers them a point of difference in the market while utilising our extensive design, sourcing, and manufacturing prowess. CONNECT Smart Home with Harvey Norman and V-Fitness with Big W are two recent examples, and Tech4Pets alongside PETstock will further drive our success in private label, an area in which we are heavily investing.”

PETstock general manager for merchandise, Ann Riad said the retailer is always looking for ways to expand the range and differentiate itself in the market.

“Affordable pet related technology is something our customers have been telling us they are looking for, for some time now. By partnering with a well-established company such as Laser, we know that while Tech4Pets is a new brand, the range will not only offer customers an affordable tech option, but also the assurance of quality and Australian customer support.”
