Employees 150 locals.

Kmart opened a new store at the expanded Narellan Town Centre on Thursday. The 5156sqm space features Kmart’s new store layout that is being rolled out nationally and provides categories including apparel for men, women and children, toys, health and beauty, homewares, stationery and sporting goods.

Kmart Narellan has employed close to 150 locals and seven internal candidates. The layout, as with the layout of new Kmart stores rolled out recently nationally and in New Zealand, includes wider aisles and bolder graphics.

“It is an incredible achievement for the whole Kmart team to see this site transformed from a cold shell to a fresh new Kmart store,” Kmart Narellan store manager, Roger Alves said.

“The majority of the team members we have employed live locally, which reflects our investment in the local community and support for the area,” he added.

Alves said his team is also working with the local Narellan community and giving back through the Spare Change program via their fundraising for local charity, Headspace Campbelltown.

“Customers can make a contribution to Kmart Narellan’s Spare Change Charity through collection boxes and donation functions on self-serve checkouts,” he said.
