SYDNEY, NSW: The EcoSwitch (RRP $19) can be placed at appliance hubs and works by eliminating standby power, which according to the company, can save the average household up to 10 per cent of its electricity bill.
Carbon Reduction Industries (suppliers of the EcoSwitch) managing director, Rod Sheppard, said the power saver was a “no brainer”.
“Individuals and businesses are increasingly aware of their impact on the environment and are becoming committed to using less electricity and reducing greenhouse gas emissions,” said Sheppard.
“A huge amount of electricity is wasted in homes and businesses because of the way that much of our electrical appliances and equipment are designed. They’re designed to draw power 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every single week of the year. A significant amount of energy and our hard earned money is wasted.
“The EcoSwitch is a no brainer – plug it in between your power point and your power board, and switch off all appliances or equipment using standby power from your chair, architrave, workstation or even from bed. There is no other product as simple, versatile or inexpensive as this available anywhere.”
