SYDNEY: Portable GPS navigation company TomTom Australia has announced an in-store promotion which will see consumers who purchase a new TomTom GO 720 portable GPS receive a free copy of the latest 2008 mapping data from Whereis.
The 2008 Whereis map, which is valued at around $149, will be made available to registered GO 720 owners on 1 June 2008 when it is released.
TomTom’s promotion allows retailers to guarantee their customers will have the most up-to-date Australian maps for at least the next 18 months.
The offer kicked off at the start of the month and will run until after the post-Christmas and New Years sales, finishing on 6 January 2008.
Customers will receive their 2008 Whereis map update via download through the TomTom Home software, however, to be eligible they must first submit a form available in-store with their details and a copy of the receipt attached.
All entries for the free update must be lodged with TomTom by 31 January 2008.
The TomTom GO 720 features extra large 4.3-inch touch screen, built-in FM transmitter to transmit sound to a car stereo, text-to-speech technology, enhanced hands-free calling, and new extras such as recording driving instructions in your own voice.
