SYDNEY: Robert Hayes, the former national sales manager with both LG Electronics Australia and Maytag Australia, has resigned from De’Longhi Australia and is leaving the company this afternoon after two years with the business.

Current.com.au understands that Hayes tendered his resignation last month and had previously agreed to work until the end of February.

During his time at De’Longhi, Hayes was National Retail & Commercial Air Conditioning Manager and is credited with expanding the De’Longhi fixed air conditioning business through the Narta buying group as well as Harvey Norman and a network of air conditioning specialists.

This afternoon, Hayes told Current.com.au that it is time to look for the next challenge.

“I enjoy going into organisations that need someone with a fresh perspective to implement new ideas for future sales and market share growth. Our industry is under constant change with channel rationalisation and new suppliers looking for a piece of the pie, while existing suppliers fight for profitable growth”.

Hayes fulfilled a similar role at Maytag prior to the Whirlpool takeover and was responsible for realigning the brand’s profile in 2003 and 2004.

“I’ve worked for some fantastic brands so far in my career on both the supplier and retail side and will be exploring opportunities within the Industry” Hayes said.

Hayes can be contacted on his existing mobile number – 0412 198 708.
