UnderCurrent is pleased to welcome Hisense to the F1 family! The Chinese manufacturer has signed on as an official supplier of televisions to the 2014 Australian Grand Prix.

The Australian Grand Prix, which is being held in Melbourne this weekend (13-16 March 2014), is the first event on a 19-race schedule for the glamorous sport.

“Hisense regards association with major Australian events as a very effective communications instrument for the brand,” revved head of marketing Andre Ianuzzi. “It makes an important contribution to our business success by strengthening brand awareness, positioning Hisense with a solid foothold to leverage the release of Hisense’s new 2014 Android powered smart TVs.”

Although UnderCurrent congratulates Hisense on this deal, the last-minute-ness of its signing means Hisense isn’t listed among the many, many ‘business partners’ on the Grand Prix’s official website. UnderCurrent will have to take these awkward photos as proof:
