Philips Consumer Lifestyle Australia has just announced an agreement with a leading consumer electronics distributor, in efforts to re-introduce its range of audio video products to the Australian retail market.

The agreement has been made with distributor Powermove, which means the Philips portfolio will now be added to its range of accessories and high-end audio solutions.

Powermove was established in 2004 to answer the demand for iPod and other lifestyle accessories and has grown to include a wider range of premium audio systems.

According to Powermove, the company has grown year-on-year and now supports the needs of all major electrical and department stores via a marketing and demonstration centre in Sydney and office/warehouse in Melbourne.

“We are extremely pleased to announce this partnership. Philips continues to make an extensive range of products to support leading market positions in many countries,” said Sanjay De, senior manager, business development, Philips Consumer Lifestyle Australia.

“The decision to choose Powermove was heavily influenced by the company’s impressive business growth, well established close retail relationships and comprehensive training programs.”

Mark King, general manger, Powermove, was optimistic that the agreement will help continue the growth for the company.

“Partnering with Philips will give Powermove the opportunity to continue achieving our growth ambitions and further solidify our position as a distribution partner of choice for leading consumer electronics brands.”

The company claims that the new agreement will help create jobs at Powermove with a dedicated Philips marketing and product manager as well as warehouse staff.
