MELBOURNE, VIC: Whirlpool Australia recently restructured its marketing team and now welcomes Alex Miles to its Food Preparation category of ovens, cooktops, rangehoods and microwaves. Miles also has a connection to the MasterChef TV show.

In June Whirlpool Australia announced a major restructuring of its marketing department. Michael Van Raay was promoted to marketing manager for Oceania. Natalie Nikolovski was appointed as the category manager for Food Stream Solutions (refrigerators). Steven Warner was appointed to category manager for fabric care (laundry and dryers). Belinda Toner became the category manager for food preparation and home cleaning (cooking, microwaves and dishwashers). James Norton extended his portfolio as retail marketing manager and Francis Gardiner took on a newly-formed role of trade marketing analyst.

Now Alex Miles joins the Whirlpool marketing team to fill a maternity leave position as category manager for Food Preparation. Miles has had years of experience in sales and marketing in the wine industry.

“Alex’s past sales and marketing experience in some of the country’s most reputable wine companies makes her an invaluable contributor to the major projects and developments Whirlpool are undertaking for the remainder of the year,” said Whirlpool Australia general manager of Marketing, David Graham.

Formerly general manager of Melbourne based Carlei Wines Pty Ltd, Miles is also a top-30 contestant in Network Ten’s hit TV show MasterChef Australia.

“My past experiences will be beneficial for my business acumen but most importantly the knowledgeable, dedicated and creative team I’ve recently joined will allow me to understand the new sector inside out,” said Miles.
