According to the ASX, Freshtel Holdings, the internet telephone technology company, which distributes its VoIP products through retailers like JB Hi-Fi, Clive Peeters, Bing Lee, Officeworks and Radio Rentals, has appointed a new non-executive director and chairman to its board.

Dr Allan Sullivan will replace Ken Loughnan AO, who is stepping down as director and chairman of Freshtel due to the increasing commitments and workload relating to his role as commissioner, Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation.

Sullivan brings over 30 years experience in technology and engineering companies as well as a number of executive roles in technology-based companies.

His previous roles include executive director of EBet, advisor to Ultico/Ingot Group and a member of the executive board of Siemens Building Technologies Asia Pacific.

Sullivan expressed a lot of enthusiasm toward this new appointment and was confident that he will help expand the company.

“I am looking forward to taking on this new role as I believe Freshtel is a company with great potential. I am confident my experience in leading and transforming technology companies will benefit Freshtel as it seeks to expand its global footprint,” he said.

Outgoing chairman, Ken Loughnan, was adamant the company will continue to grow and wished Sullivan the best of luck.

“We have achieved a great deal over the past few years and I am satisfied that the company is now in a stable position having just completed an equity raising and with the entry of a new major shareholder,” he said.

“Sullivan will bring a new level of technical skills and international business leadership to the board. His extensive experience will open up a significant network of contacts domestically and internationally. I wish the board and management of Freshtel and Dr Sullivan all the best for the future.”

The new appointment is effective immediately.
