Electrolux, Jura and Birde to name just a few.

Electrolux, Jura and Birde have between them taken out several awards and accolades at the 2019 Good Design Awards, held at The Star in Sydney. These international awards for design and innovation celebrate the best new products and services on the Australian market, covering excellence in architectural design, engineering, fashion, digital and communication design as well as emerging areas of design strategy, social impact and design entrepreneurship.

“Australia’s Good Design Award is more than a symbol of design excellence it represents the hard work and dedication towards an innovative outcome that will ultimately improve our quality of life,” Good Design Australia CEO, Dr Brandon Gien said. “These projects showcase the brilliance of design and the potential it has to improve our world.”

The Good Design Award for Best Domestic Appliance went to the Electrolux Kitchen Range. “Our Electrolux Design team is excited to be recognised by Good Design Australia. We have design centres all over the world, including here in Sydney, which allows us to combine global strength with local relevance,” Electrolux Sydney design manager, Monica Mazioun told Appliance Retailer.

“Our design philosophy, Human Touch, defines the way we approach designing across the globe – keeping our consumers’ needs central to our mission to ‘Shape Living for the Better’. This philosophy recognises and values the impact design has in people’s lives, understanding that design is not just about the object created but also about the experience and how it makes us feel, think and learn.”
