The Breville Group’s acting CEO Jack Lord has spoken about the company’s half year sales results, saying that international success is leading to greater innovations for local retailers.

The Breville Group distributes the Breville and Kambrook brands, and some Philips-branded products, in the Australian market.

"Despite difficult trading conditions, we're pleased to see growth, particularly in Breville's average sell price and Philips' increase in market share in irons and shavers,” Lord said.

"Breville is rapidly becoming an international appliances company while maintaining a strong focus on the Australian and New Zealand markets.

"We see this as providing benefits for Australian retailers as we are increasing our investment in product development and leveraging our investment in marketing.  For example, we are producing television commercials that are running in multiple markets.

"It gives us a strategic advantage over competitors which are restricted to the local market."
