The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) yesterday issued a product recall for Linda electric blankets from Gerard Sourcing and Manufacturing.
Gerard Sourcing and Manufacturing is conducting a voluntary recall of the Linda Super Slumber/Sleep Safe electric blanket due to a risk of fire or electric shock.
According to the company, in instances where there is a severe bend to the electrical supply lead located at the connector to the blanket, there is a potential risk for an electrical shock or electrocution.
The electric blankets involved in the recall include models SUPSLMAN-LS, SUPSLMAN-LS/F, SUPSLMAN-DQ and SPLSFW-SL/F, and batch codes WE001/0804, WE001/0807, WE001/0813 and WE001/0815.
The recalled Linda Super Slumber/Sleep Safe electric blanket was for sale between March 2008 and November 2009 from Harris Scarfe stores in New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.
