Fitbit has made its two new fitness gadgets available for online preorder, ahead of a general retail launch program beginning at the end of January 2015.
A self-described “limited quantity” of Charge HR (black) smartband and Surge (black) smartwatch can be purchased now, with shipping expected in approximated two weeks.
“In terms of bricks and mortar retailers, the Charge HR will be available in major retailers at the end of January while the Surge will be available from early February 2015,” the company said. “Pricing at launch will be RRP $199 for the Charge HR and RRP $349 for the Surge.”
The Fitbit Charge HR features PurePulse optical heart rate technology for continuous, automatic all-day tracking; a vivid OLED screen; exercise mode; caller ID; sleep detection and five days of battery life.
The Surge has built-in GPS; multiple sports modes; a range of smartphone notifications and music control; backlit LCD touchscreen and a 7-day battery.
