Appliance Retailer magazine is chalking up a massive milestone this month, entering into its 20th year as Australia’s leading magazine for the electrical retailing industry. With the February 2014 issue already doing the rounds in staff break rooms and on the desks of the industries heavy hitters, there’s plenty of news and insight to kick off the year.

We’ve got all the big stories and insider info from the 2014 International CES in January, neatly summed up for those that weren’t at the show (and as a tidy reminder for those that were there but too busy to take it all in!) — there are interviews with leading suppliers and analysts, insight into trends and great photos from the show floor.

There’s also a wrap of all the big news from the start of the year, including stats on the summer sales period, a preview of the big shows coming up soon, and a spotlight on Kleenmaid’s path towards reinvention. Our resident retail expert Bob Johnson is also in his 20th year, offering tips for stronger retail management, while the magazine says farewell to another veteran of the industry, Alex Encel, who has closed his Encel Stereo store after 56 massive years.

As retailers get past the summer heatwave, they’re starting to consider what they’ll be stocking up on for the lead in to winter. All the latest heating appliances and electric blankets get their time to shine in our two detailed features, with plenty of tips for selling these products and details on efficient technologies and designs that are rolling out into market.

With a plenty of pages dedicated to new products hitting shelves — both in the appliance and consumer electronics categories — as well as the insights that the industry has come to expect after 20 years in the game, this issue of Appliance Retailer has once again proven to be a stellar read.
