Entries are now open for POPAI’s 21st annual Marketing at Retail Awards, with the best in Australian retail marketing campaigns to be recognised across 20 categories, covering physical displays and shopper experience.

The POPAI Awards recognise and reward best practice, innovation, and excellence in retail and shopper marketing. Entrants vie for the Gold, Silver and Bronze ‘Indian’, a tribute to the first instore marketing in the US, the Cigar Store Indian, more than 50 years ago.

In addition to Gold, Silver and Bronze, POPAI’s highest honour, the Tom Harris Marketing at Retail Award (named after POPAI ANZ founder, Tom Harris) is selected from Gold winners. Other Pinnacle Awards are given for excellence in Design & Innovation, Shopper Experience, and Best Display.

Australian and New Zealand designers and producers of retail marketing material, brand owners, agencies, suppliers, and retailers are eligible to enter the Awards.

POPAI ANZ general manager, Carla Bridge said the Awards are the highest recognition of retail marketing success in Australia and New Zealand.

“Despite a challenging retail environment, the POPAI Marketing at Retail Awards continue to go from strength to strength, with the number of entrants having growing each year for the past three years, proving the importance of marketing in the retail landscape.”

Award entries are open from May 1 to July 16. Entries must have been in market in the period between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018. Winners will be announced at the POPAI Awards Gala Dinner on September 13.
