Amazon is expanding its eero line-up in Australia with the eero Max 7, its first mesh Wi-Fi 7 router providing customers with the best eero performance to date, and the eero Pro 6E, its mesh Wi-Fi 6E router for customers with gigabit or faster internet plans.

“We know Australians love to stream sport, movies and TV, game, work from home, connect with loved ones overseas and use an increasing number of connected devices. Connectivity is crucial to their everyday lives. Alongside being easy-to-use, fast, and secure, reliability is core to our mission, and this has been front and centre with the introduction of eero Max 7 and eero Pro 6E,” eero CEO and co-founder, Nick Weaver said.

eero Max 7 sets a new benchmark in performance and represents the best of eero. It combines the company’s patented TrueMesh networking technology with the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard to increase speeds, avoid interference from neighbouring networks and improve mesh latency. With 10 gigabit ethernet, it’s now possible to download a 4K movie in 10 seconds or a 50-gigabyte video game in less than one minute.

As eero’s fastest tri-band mesh Wi-Fi system, eero Max 7 supports the 2.4, 5, and 6GHz radio bands, and delivers wireless speeds up to 4.3Gbps and wired speeds up to 9.4Gbps. With two 10 and two 2.5 gigabit ethernet ports, it can support multiple wired devices and enable customers to take advantage of internet plans up to 10Gbps.

A single eero Max 7 unit can provide 230 square metres of coverage. It can support over 200 connected devices and features Matter support, the ability to act as a Thread Border Router, and a built-in Zigbee smart home hub (as controllers only).

eero Pro 6E represents premium performance for customers with internet plans up to 2.5Gbps. The Wi-Fi 6E-enabled eero mesh Wi-Fi system can support over 100 devices simultaneously and network speeds up to 2.3Gbps and leverages the 6GHz band to enable faster speeds and less congestion across home networks. A single eero Pro 6E can cover up to 190 square metres, while a three-pack covers up to 560 square metres.

Use the eero app to set up eero Max 7 and eero Pro 6E in minutes, manage the network, pause the internet, share network details with others, and more. Similar to other eero devices, eero Max 7 and eero Pro 6E are backward compatible with previous generations of devices, making it easy to expand or upgrade an eero network as Wi-Fi needs evolve.

Available for $159.99 per year or $15.99 per month, subscribers to the eero Plus service can add advanced online security features and parental controls, take advantage of eero Internet Backup during an outage and use top-rated security apps: 1Password for password management, Malwarebytes for malware and anti-virus protection, and Guardian for VPN access.

The eero Max 7 device is available now for $1,099.99 (one-pack) and $2,999.99 (three-pack). The eero Pro 6E device is available now for $449.99 (one-pack) and $949.99 (three-pack).
