The latest addition to the Ecovacs robotic vacuum cleaner line-up – the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI – is now available with integrated, proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for enhanced obstacle identification and avoidance, new level of laser-based mapping and an integrated camera that can stream on-demand video.

With the latest optimised AIVI technology, the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI can automatically recognise objects including shoes, socks, charging docks and cables, reducing the risk of getting stuck by 60% compared to predecessor models.

New TrueMapping laser technology is powered by aerospace-standard direct time of flight (dToF) detection sensors that map the home four times faster than standard laser mapping, can detect a distance two times further away and detect objects measuring just one millimetre tall. A detailed interactive map can be created for the robot using the accompanying Ecovacs Home app.

The T8 AIVI boasts up to three hours of battery life and in addition to its enhanced cleaning performance, there is an in-built on-demand video manager function that allows users to check in on their kids, pets and areas of the home remotely.

Further, the latest robotic vacuum offers simultaneous two-in-one vacuuming and mopping functionality to remove up to 99.26% of bacteria. With advanced carpet detection, it will automatically avoid carpet when mopping. The Ozmo Pro Oscillating Mopping System is included for more stubborn stains using high-frequency vibration (480 times per minute) and unique fine mopping mode comparable to an electric mop.

Ecovacs Australia and New Zealand head, Karen Powell said the T8 AIVI is a ‘game changer’ when it comes to robotic cleaners with its ability to recognise and respond to objects and obstacles.

“Users can now leave the home cleaning to their automated devices with unprecedented levels of trust that it will not get stuck. Add in the Ozmo Pro Oscillating Mopping System and features such as Multi-Floor Mapping, aerospace standard TrueMapping technology and an impressive run time, it is perfectly designed for traditionally large Australian homes.”

The Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI is available at JB Hi-Fi for RRP $1,299 with more retailers, products, and accessories from the Deebot Ozmo T8 family announced later this year.
