Dimplex has taken out the Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers Award in the portable heating category for the second year in a row.

The brand received five stars for reliability, appearance and design, quietness and overall satisfaction, ranking ahead of Dyson, Kambrook, Goldair and De’Longhi.

Canstar Blue conducted a survey of nearly 1,300 Australian consumers for feedback on the portable heater they’ve purchased and used in the last three years. Respondents rated brands on effectiveness, functionality, reliability, quietness, design, value for money and overall satisfaction.

According to Canstar Blue research, effectiveness is the most important consideration when buying a portable heater, ahead of reliability (27%), value for money (20%), appearance and design (11%) and functionality (9%).

When asked for thoughts about efficiency during the cooler months, almost half (49%) of respondents said they limit their use of portable heaters to save money with 39% of households concerned about how much energy their heater uses.
